Cuban Communist Party Delegation Visits South Africa











HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 2 (acn) A Cuban Communist Party Central Committee (CCPCC) delegation headed by Rodolfo Puente Ferro was received today in South Africa by Blade Nzimande, general secretary of the Communist Party in this African nation.

In the exchange with the South African counterpart, Puente Ferrero verified the strength of their bilateral relations.

Also, he talked with the hosts about the action to be taken to reinforce their ties, reported the Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry’s website.

Meanwhile, the South African communist leader ratified his support to Cuba in the campaign for the freedom of the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly incarcerated in the United States, and also made a statement in support of the lifting of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba.

Last month Blade Nzimande was appointed South Africa’s Minister of Higher Education after the general elections in that country where the African National Congress (ANC) and other allied forces, including the communist party, won 65.9 percent of the votes
