The Obama dictated offensive of the Pakistani Military vs the Taliban has left more than a million children in danger of contracting polio. Since the start of the military offensive against insurgents, most of the Swat Valley and parts of the tribal areas have become impossible to penetrate by vaccination teams .
So far this year 20 cases have been confirmed - seven of them from north-west Pakistan. And this is just the start of the polio season. The severe outbreaks
occur later in the summer and fall.
Vaccination programs attempted earlier in the year were rendered impossible by the intensity of fighting. Washington had spoken: the Swat Valley was to be a living hell, a blitz air and ground war...
And Pakistan is also one of a few world countries which still see annual polio outbreaks. The first few months of the year are crucial for vaccination teams who try to immunize kids before the polio virus starts to circulate.
This year the immunization campaigns have been shut down by the accelerated war.
Woe to the poor nations held captive to imperialist dictates! Woe to the little children and pregnant women and the sick and aged fleeing the flames, rockets and drones!
