21st Century Socialism and Class Power: the class that possesses the most power wins, Andrew Taylor, Nov 10, 2019

The Bolivian capitalist oligarchy with the full support of the US seized upon a time of uncertainty after the Bolivian elections to force President Morales' administration out of power.

Lenin wrote in ch 1 of The State and Revolution: "The bourgeois state does not "wither away" according to Engels, but is "put an end to" by the proletariat in the course of the revolution". For whatever reasons there were no socialist revolutions in either Bolivia or Venezuela. Todays reversals are a lesson on the effervescent nature of evolutionary left social-democratic governments. Perhaps Bolivia and Venezuela hadn't mass support for socialist revolution. Perhaps the fight was never undertaken. What we do know now is that Bolivia has fallen into the hands of reaction and US imperialism.

A lesson ought to be learned: when capitalism remains in power in a country an attempt by an administration to 'evolve' into socialism is a House built on sand.

The ruthless determination of the ruling class is clear. The working class must be more organised, more determined and more ruthless in its destruction of Capitalist power.
