The Canadian federal government recently sent body bags to Manitoba aboriginal reserves as preparation kits for a possible swine flu outbreak. Surely this incident is a symbolic parable for the Canadian state which should inspire historical reflection, mourning, and works of social redemption. Canada must seize this moment when it seems the handwriting has been written on the wall, and do reparative and creative justice.
