Welcoming an American Embassy in one's democratic country is the political equivalent of hanging thick webs of vicious Hobo Spiders in one's main sleeping quarters. Yet there is invariably vicious payback if one attempts to sweep out the cob (Washington's retaliatory economic destabilisation campaigns, sanctions, coup d'etat, etc)

This is the dilemma of free nations taking an independent foreign policy. And it will not change substantially until US imperialism is dethroned. Obama wants only to adjust the tone, not smash the machine!
