OTTAWA - The House of Commons has passed a controversial free trade deal between Canada and Colombia.
MPs voted 188-79 on Monday to approve the deal, which human rights and union activists strongly oppose.
The Conservatives and Liberals supported the bill, while the NDP and Bloc Quebecois opposed it.
Critics cite Colombia's terrible human rights record, including the killing of trade unionists and other activists.
